The DumTeeDum community are an essential part of the podcast as they will often observe details or make plot predictions which are then subject to discussion by the hosts.
Contributions may be made via Speakpipe on the website, calls to 0203 031 3105 or via the contact page on the website.
Sometimes if there are a lot of calls then Roifield may edit them a bit and to make sure the podcast does not last 2 or more hours it is helpful if contributions do not regularly exceed two minutes.
However first time callerinerers are always welcome to add to the roster. And for them we do not expect the time limit to be kept. We do ask first time callers to help us with the following:
Obviously you need to be identifiable. And we accept nons de plume – Dusty Substances, Jan from Can and Bye Bye Steve may not be called that in real life – your choice and for many it is the same as their Twitter identity or Facebook name.
On the first call we like to know a little more please. Maybe where you come from, your job – particularly if you are able to provide professional commentary on events in The Archers (child kidnapping, race relations, drugs and HIV infection rates in Brighton, hunting activities, running stately homes or even farming). When did you first start listening to The Archers – we have had at least one contributor who was there when it started – and who was the newcomer when you started listening, what was the major storyline about (if you can remember)? Finally, it helps if you let us know if you have a regular listening habit – work commute, walking your dumteedog (or mog) or relaxing in the bath?
All of this helps paint a picture and many pictures make the DumTeeDum community – remember the pictures are always better on the wireless / podcast!
