Was I the only person that thought Harriet Vane was a nom-de-plume for Lynda, who was trying catch Eddie out by testing him and getting him to say disparaging things about Ambridge Hall.
Ooh, interesting idea. Lyndy is just the sort of person to borrow a name from classic detective fiction!
