Quentin’s better half has insisted that a retired man should still have holidays and so he has been replaced this week by Jackie Lye once best known for being Sandra in “Brush Strokes” but to the listeners to The Archers she is now life model Joy Horville, next door neighbour on the Beechwood estate to Helen and Lee.
Jackie has been recording with TA since 2019 and updates on the current procedures now that they are back in the studio for main recording although some individuals may still be phoning in their words remotely; the magic makes it seamless.
There are many questions for Jackie. She can neither confirm or deny the existence of Rochelle and she hopes that her psychic skills will re-appear in the future. One caller has overlooked that Home Farm abandoned all of the soft fruit when Adam came out for Brexit and repurposed the polytunnels (of love) for fish. However the same caller makes the excellent point that when she needs to make a decision in her own business she identifies what Tom Archer would do and does the complete opposite. Very sound advice.
Another caller queries the indoor arena’s existence at the riding school. Who’s Who of the Archers 2010 certainly records it existed then and I certainly remember hearing horses being exercised in it. So not built with route B money but long before, although I am unsure when.
Philippa queries Adam walking out of his job – easily explained – he is in his probationary period and he has probably accrued enough holiday to cover the week’s notice, particularly as we know he had to work on a Saturday so time off in lieu. I doubt that the Boil will be able to do anything about it.
