I assume that the press, bottling plant and store are co-located with or near the orchard. How can any of the Bridge Farm farming experts think that trundling the raw fruit umpteen miles prior to processing is either good for the fruit or good for the environment? I can understand that Natasha dislikes not being in the same bed as Tom every night but whilst the practical processing and labelling happens in one place surely Natasha does not do it herself, so the order processing, marketing and accounting activity can take place almost anywhere these days! And don’t tell me she is the only employee – who does the picking, pressing, labelling, invoicing, sales, marketing, plant care, horticulture, machinery maintenance – she cannot do it alone!
Meanwhile a prisoner’s rights are given more credence than a serving police officer and people wonder what we have done wrong in this country? My understanding of the law in the UK is that an individual loses rights when they enter prison for offending against society and that loss of rights underpins their confinement. I cannot see how Harrison asking questions of Blake in any way causes Moss a problem. Moss is serving his sentence and it is Blake who needs to be given help to find a proper place in society, not dragged further through the muck; indeed given his educational deprivation why are adult social services not ensuring his long term safety and care?
