I’m absolutely convinced that the knowledge of this forthcoming legislation (I think the campaign for it has been going in for some years) has been one of the driving forces behind the planning of this story line.
Jess, of course, warned Helen about Rob back in early 2014, around the time of the Valentine’s Day debacle, although I don’t think she did so in terms of a caring ‘be careful and get out while you can’ spirit, but rather in an embittered, semi-gloating ‘ha! ha! ha! It’s your turn to suffer’ manner. I doubt if, as the ‘wronged wife’, Jess would want to support Helen in any action against Rob. I’m afraid I wouldn’t in her position!
