WitherspoonModeratorI am sure there must be a rule against that!

CiderDrinkerParticipantI suspect you are right but it would add another dimension to it ..! As if Helen needs any more drama!!

Miss Mid-CityParticipantI don’t think we need more characters – certainly not Anna. She’s carried out her function(s) and as far as I’m concerned, she can go now.

Jim O’HaraParticipantAgreed, she carried out more than her function in the wrong wAys.
If I didn’t know better, I would think that all Domestic Violence lawyers must be lesbians. You must be a man hater to do that job? Right?
Also, the hetero lawyer just did his job, while the lesbian was a half crazy stalker who drank whiskey from the bottle.
Lucky I know these things aren’t true.

Talking of pictures of characters, did anyone else find that the court drawings tweeted by the BBC conflicted with their imaginations? Thinking about it I don’t really have images in my mind of how the characters look, just how I think they would think and act based on their voices and what I know about them – but the court drawings of Kirsty and Helen in particular struck me as wrong! I don’t know what I think they look like but they don’t look like that! Funny how the mind works!
As for love interest for Anna, someone normal please! Not too much is she/isn’t she drama, not some stereotypical central casting character, just a normal sensible well established woman with a regular job who behaves decently. Oh wait, this is a soap…

Jan MitchellParticipantWhat about Amy Franks? She was a bit of a regular about the time I started listening 3 or so years ago. She probably saved Helen’s life before Henry’s birth by picking up on her Pre-eclampsia. She had one Heterosexual relationship with Carl, who turned out to be a bad’n. She’s a young professional (Midwife) who’s been away from the storyline long enough that her sexuality could have been on that continuum.

caddi butnotimeParticipantI am with Jan and Landless on this: can we please have a regular person with a full character who just happens to be gay or even bi? I like that both Adam and Ian are fully fleshed out characters – one who is a faithful and loyal person the other who has the morals of a cat. I hope Anna can pick up the pieces after being dumped (and having a minor breakdown as many people do after heartbreak) and pick up with someone like Amy. The only think is that Amy was a bit young I think.
She could always partner up with Shula. No, I wouldn’t wish Shula on anyone, no matter how desperate she is.

Jan MitchellParticipantYes, Amy may be a bit young, but some couples have a large age spread and it works. As long as it isn’t depicted in a creepy way, ha ha! No, not Shula, never Shula!!!
