I thought that a long time ago, even said it out loud on DumTeeDum, but Roifield and Lucy did not agree….
There is nothing like a bit of amateur dramatics to create relationships which would have seemed impossible otherwise.

Tom will see them rehearsing and will decide he has to talk Kirsty round – which will happen!

So re: Kirsty’s possible pregnancy – would it actually have to be happily ever after for her and Tom or would the writers engineer a more modern co-parenting storyline that had them admitting their feelings for each other after maybe ten years of raising a child together amicably?

I thought I was the only one to think that Roy and Kirsty was going to be the way. I’m not convinced at all about this pregnancy supposition. With Haley not coming back, Kirsty would be good for Roy and likewise he for her.

We don’t need Roy and Kirsty to have a liaison. The writers need to pave the way for Roy to leave Ambridge. He’s the last link to the Tucker family (bar Phoebe). I thought the Tuckers, Carters and Grundies would be around forever – but I was wrong about the Tuckers.

I can’t see any purpose in keeping Roy around except as a friend to Tom. His daughter, Phoebe, doesn’t really need him. She chose not to live with him and now she’s gone off to University. I can’t see her settling in Ambridge after Oxford. As for Tom, he doesn’t need friends to keep him in Ambridge: he has a family that isn’t going anywhere. It’s not enough for Roy to be kept in the background, working away at Grey Gables and feeling sorry for himself because he’s single.

Roy should have gone after he disgraced himself with The Widow Pargetter.
