For reasons best known to himself Roifield, who is hosting this week with Philippa, seems to spend more time telling us about two television programmes than last week on The Archers – was he listening to the latter? One of those tv programmes name I did not catch so cannot tell you what it was – the other “Kim’s Convenience” is on Netflix if you can afford it and want to follow up the recommendation.
My observation this week is that Jenny would have gone and asked Oliver about Ed, not Ed. Oliver could have said what he did – Ed does not even remember most of it, nor do we as it was largely never recorded for us. Jenny would have been far more sensitive talking to Ed – she was a teacher once upon a time and has hugely better people skills than the way she was portrayed this week.
Are you still singing along with Amy Winehouse? “No, no, no” is the response I am anticipating. A lot of history got painted in the cracks this week as we recalled Jack 1; Ed’s crack; Alice’s fun loving days; not surprisingly given the brain damage Jazzer has forgotten about ketamine; even today Ed still has a drug dealer on speed dial on his phone – are we sure he is a recovered addict?
In a previously unremarked feature Philippa challenges Roifield with The Archers headlines and he scores zero out of three with Joy’s knickers in the Guardian, psychological help was the Irish Times whilst covid changing the programme forever was the Telegraph. Philippa, who was not feeling well, decided to head off and skip round the house.
