Welcome, Philippa, Rosie and Quentin are reunited in celebration of last week in The Archers; Quentin is particularly rural but in sight of a mast so has a strong signal.
For the second week running characters were showing complete aberration, with David and Ruth being cheerful; Lee turning violent and Eddie running a successful scam in fleecing the groom (Yam Yam) who, unlike the rest of the country appears to walk around with over £300 cash in his back pocket! Have you tried paying anyone in cash recently? I have been in pubs that simply refused to take money. Is that even legal? Damned annoying.
Roy’s new friend, Leyla, attracts extensive comment with various guesses as to her possible identity and potential either for being a catfish or possibly some form of disablement which she is reluctant to reveal, another theory is one of transition which given that these days all new characters have “ishoos” actually seems a highly likely. Either she will vanish completely or all will be revealed in a few weeks’ time.
And with Ben abandoning Brookfield, I am concerned about Bess. I wonder if the dog can be retrained to be a comfort dog, trotting around the hospital wards to bring joy (not Joy) to patients, giving them cuddles and ensuring they are rounded up on the wards for the doctors’ visits.
