I have made presentations in my time to a Board and I can categorically state that causing internecine warfare between two key board members is a certain way to get the proposal rejected. They will both be so upset by the proposal that they will convince the rest of the Board to reject it. Alongside this I feel I should remind the powers that be that Justin is not a BL board member as he made clear when buying the share he owns that he cannot afford the time requirement. Disappointing lack of continuity.
Our hosts and callers express some concerns over the ability of some of those on the programme. I am not sure I can support these thoughts as they relate, in the main, to rarely heard individuals who have not perhaps had proper opportunities to demonstrate their skills. Ms Artois is throwing her weight around to a degree which belies her period of employment whilst Amy should be discussing her concerns with the professional mentors available, not running home to Daddy having just decorated her flat; these are heavyweight stories for new radio recruits and stretch our credulity when we do not know the individuals at all well. Stella Artois screaming at Brian in a probationary period would be instant dismissal in my book.
Much of this week seemed to revolve around food whilst farming hardly got a look in as Stella flashed a load buzzwords and management speak; Blake re-materialised in hiding (and what good is a hide if it only gets a visit once a week); Amy threw the baby out with the bathwater rather than knuckling down and getting on with the job in hand – inevitably she will become the baby whisperer with Xanadu, Pipsqueak and motherless Martha all needing proper daycare whilst their parents do something useful.
