DTD: 232 – The Aldridges implode.

Once again our listeners demonstrate their versatility when Clare from Clapham, our resident housing expert, reveals her skills with the recorder. Lucy says last week ran out of time and apparently she thought she must have died when Roifield published a “best off” compilation! Lucy disproved this and was in fine form in the week in Ambridge getting in Fallon’s bangers within seconds of starting. This is a somewhat off the wall suggestion but I do wonder if the madness amongst the Aldridge clan is in fact down to the poison they have all been ingesting for many years from […]

DTD – 230 A collection of the Ambridge’s mightiest heroes

Lucy suddenly declared that she had sympathy for the original millennial snowflake, Kate, which was prompted by Brian and Adam both believing that they had managed to solve the problem by not answering her telephone calls.  Boy did their arrogance cost them!  Lucy is also backing incest – but if I said any more you would not want to go and listen to the podcast which I do recommend.  Roifield takes Lucy to task over these comments. Lucy I say unto you – do not believe all you read on Twitter! It is predicted that Rex will be involved in […]

DTD – 229 Kate you’ve let yourself down and the bouncy castle too!

Lucy appears to have taken up residence in an echo chamber – then she built a tower to move the microphone! Lucy has identified that Anisha is characterised as a cheeky Jack Russell terrier whilst Rex is a golden retriever and the two are not really compatible – listen to her descriptions to understand more! I still don’t get it. We all know wearing shoes is just not allowed on a bouncy castle. Are we really expected to believe that Toby threw Kate onto the bouncy castle unclothed but still wearing shoes, “adult” or not, with half the party still […]

Promo – Roifield speaks to Keri Davies on 25 years working on the Archers.

Originally from Wales via Wiltshire, Keri Davies has been resident in Ambridge for 25 years now. To listen to the full interview sign up to become a Patreon Dumteedum member https://www.patreon.com/dumteedum

DTD: 228 – Witherspoon is on the mend and how bonkers is Shula?

Welcome to the podcast for a little review of events in Ambridge which only came together at the fourth attempt due to software hiccups. First up please can we have some reviews of the podcast at iTunes or elsewhere – and of course if you like us then five stars is de rigeur, but other ratings are available. Our hosts dissolve into laughter at Lucy’s first copper bottomed and inductive joke concerning Derek. Nothing sticks to Teflon, or to Roifield when faced with polyamory (which has nothing to do with feathered birds). It is not long before the podcast descends […]

DTD: 227 – Shula is Brexit, she has made a decision to exit a relationship with no thought to the consequences!

The important news this week which came through during recording is that our Witherspoon is on the road to recovery and has been out for a walk. Along with everyone else we wish him a swift and complete recovery and look forward to his active return to the podcast. The BIG news this week is that DumTeeDum live is going to Birmingham Town Hall (I thought it was a city) on Sunday 7 October when Lucy is threatening to leave the rarefied heights of London for this modest Midlands town. No details on any website yet – but like Lucy […]

DTD 226: How low can the Aldridge’s sink?

Due to previous engagements we have a whistle stop tour of both Ambridge and the Warsaw Ghetto in wartime this week – sorry not got time to explain further! I do need to mention a couple of corrections. Firstly Christine’s son Peter was adopted by the Johnsons in 1965 and has therefore always been Peter Johnson and not Barford. I am not at all sure when we last heard an actual voice – I think he was at George’s funeral but unheard. Secondly, Lowfield “now” says that Lily is off to Greece – which implies someone over there is listening […]

DTD: 225 – The suave deputy head and the leather jacketed pervert.

Following last week’s exclusive non-recording enjoyed by Lucy and Roifield this week allows Lucy to double her output covering two weeks of action in Ambridge, so this week is 96 minutes long. For Lucy the talk about Martin Gibson’s wife sounded as though it had been extracted out of another century – laboured seventies sitcom – so who is Nora Batty? Roifield feels the Alistair / Shula breakdown has been well observed and written. Shula’s inarticulacy over her inability to exert control – of a very different type to Rob – together with her lack of communication skills has existed […]

DTD: 224 – Roifield and Shambridges talk Ambridge, Glambridge and the Royal wedding

An “extra” podcast allowing Harriet Carmichael to extol her passion for Royal Weddings with the Harry & Meghan extravaganza which has subsequently taken place.  Harriet reckons that the wedding will probably last 18 minutes.  Does that count as lesè-majesté? Naomi McDonald has joined Harriet (fresh from starring as an avocado!) and together they have concocted “Glambridge” as a new home for their work – but it is not yet a real podcast.  It arrives about 12 minutes 30 seconds in. This is followed by a number of callers including Vicki Cole,  who is once again passing through London and the […]
