This is my first attempt at a post, so forgive me if this doesn’t show up well.
I geeked out on Monday’s episode and plotted a graph in Excel on Pip’s and Jill’s first person and second person pronoun (“I” and “You”) usage when they were interacting with each other.
Background: I love Pennebaker’s book The Secret Life of Pronouns: What Our Words Say About Us. In a nutshell, your use of function words (think words you can’t play pictionary with, like ‘because’/’if’, etc..) reflect personality as well as WHERE OUR ATTENTION LIES.
So here it is: Data that shows Pip is extraordinarily self-absorbed.
