Surprisingly after a week off Roifield is struggling with the script this week, obviously out of practice. He then admits to being 48. He does not understand the problem of Lilian revealing her age – particularly to an intended husband. Then there is a suggestion that a contributor may have been under the ‘fluence after celebrating Bastille Day! I think it is Roifield as part of his contribution is obliterated with music!
Little support for Will this week as he has been displaying some of his less attractive attributes. For some reason the writers are finding it hard to write about his more attractive aspects – Lucy believes that Will is currently re-incarnating the earlier years Mike and we need to hear Nic emulating the similar period Betty – but Nic has been a bit too quiet to achieve this. Phoebe had a visit from the ptf for about a week before reverting to type. She saw sense before everyone got too upset about it – but it is discussed at length.
As usual there are huge digressions away from the core subject with education, national service, Spiderman, sushi, school fetes (including candy floss) and American football getting coverage this week.
