Double take this week. Do you all remember when we used to have background music underpinning DumTeeDum and after some complaints Roifield gracefully conceded that it was better without? Now he and Lucy are complaining about the background music on The Archers.
Lucy points out that Lily is simply being a stupid 18 year old teenager. Meanwhile Freddie has broken the law. And yet Lizzie is rewarding Freddie and laughing about Lily with him. It is simply wrong. Freddie is where he is because of the parent. We are seeing terrible unevenness in my view in Lily’s behaviour. One week she is keen on Russ being in Manc, the next week he tells his wife and is coming and Lily is surprised. It is not consistent so it does not feel “right”. The Spanish contingent take Roifield to task because Lizzie is a single parent and should be cut some slack, before being cut off in their prime.
Talk moved onto Alastair never having had a birthday party. It must have been an unusual childhood. Was Alastair an only child – anyway it all seems a little odd? But it goes give our hosts a chance to spin some of their life stories which always entertain.
And the Ambridge Observer had the tweet of the week as she wondered if he was Russell Jones or Russell Hobbs. Has an Archers writer got some sort of kitchen fixation – first Jenny’s fitments and now three temperature kettles – whoever heard of that before? The BBC’s education remit for the week is covered.
Tom appears to have had a complete personality makeover as he seeks to grow some more nuts at Bridge Farm.
Some podcast reviews would be nice to encourage some new listeners. The website is working again! (I know I said that last week).
