Lucy gives us the best “Week in Ambridge” of the decade as Roifield notes and it certainly has him rolling in the aisles (I assume as we have not yet progressed to online videocasts of our hosts).
The extreme number of oddities is mentioned by non-Earthling Andrew Horn and the concept of odd stories is expanded by our hosts as there seems no reason for:
a) Jim being ill
b) Kirsty preferring Helen’s advice over Roy’s sound and well founded guidance
c) Phoebles taking advice and guidance from the evil Justin who was frankly doing a Trump (telling lies)
d) Gavin not appreciating money
The latter led Roifield into a tortuous but unproven maze of conjecture concerning Philips’ finances. The oddest thing was that Kirsty had claimed that Philip had been looking at numerous “balance sheets”. That was pure nonsense as balance sheets are a picture at a point in time and what Phillip needs to do is to look at income, expenditure and cash flow – will he earn enough to actually have the cash by getting paid before it flows out. We know Gavin is useless as he was unable to manage properly when Philip was laid up and it is now clear that Kirsty is equally c***.
And there was a momentous revelation when Lucy revealed that not only did she not watch the Christmas special of Gavin and Stacey – she has never seen a single episode. Roifield was stunned into near silence.
