Downloading the Omnibus this week in Cuba this week was a little tricky. My assumption was that the authorities were taking a view contrary to the UK Government that BBC Radio 4 is far too right wing, but potentially it was merely dodgy WiFi.
A question – what would you prefer – a review of my Cuban excursion or a summary of this week’s podcast? Spoilsports.
Let us compare Ambridge & Cuba:
Similarities
-
The economic systems are totally impenetrable
-
The weather can defy expectations
-
There are hints of religion in both but it is pretty rare
-
The guide says there is no crime in Cuba and we all think Josh is innocent!
-
Cuba is about to abolish the CUC in favour of the local currency as Ambridge forgot the T.
-
Rewilding has 50 years of history in Cuba, look up Las Terrazas where a former coffee plantation on terraces has been replanted with local trees and shrubs
Differences
-
The women are better looking so the men on my tour will be returning without their wives.
-
Cuba has fuel shortages
-
The concept of profit is non-existent in Cuba but then it seems to have become unimportant at the B@Ambridge.
-
There are free roaming chickens throughout Cuba; Rex has definitely got out of chickens.
-
You can get wine in Ambridge but not at all inclusive resorts in Cuba.
Not sure which heading for my next observations but Cuba had Argentinian Che for revolution and Ambridge has urban (but not always urbane) Lynda for reBullion! Likewise Jakob preparing for permanent chaos would also prepare him for Cuba!
And the podcast – listen for yourselves!
