Burning question of the week – “Is Emma a qualified tractor driver?”. Well once upon a time a farmer told his son to get in the seat, showed him the controls and explained how the clutch and gears and steering wheel worked and I drove off slowly into the far distance on the farm but not on the roads. Learning to back a trailer into a tight corner makes parallel parking a doddle!
These days the ‘Elf and Safety organisations would not look kindly on such arrangements but as they rarely make unannounced visits on overcrowded and underpaid factories in Leicester it is even rarer if they descend on a farm. Unless there has been an accident when they will pop along to beat up the survivors by throwing a book at them.
Also there are various qualifications and training in tractor driving, maintenance (the diesel goes in there, the oil goes in there etc) – at least Level 1 and Level 2, plus more general training in agriculture.
Keri, Pete and Roifield and the listeners kick the week around and don’t really reach any conclusions but we are reminded that next week Keri will be appearing in her super hero configuration as the “Log Lady” of Twin Peaks. And no-one has ever understood Adam’s relationships with either Ian or Charlie – nothing even really seems to imply that they are couples. Please note Roifield that it is over 10 years since Ian first started wanting a child – far too long a gestation period.
