This week’s monologues related to the Aldridge family – Brian, Alice, Debbie, Adam, plus Chris Carter. As remarked on Twitter, probably by Keri Warbis, baby Xander had the best lines all week.
The worst Aldridge was not heard this week – Kate must be the worst member of the family under any circumstances. But the voting between our hosts decides it is Chris who has not noticed that Alice is slightly alcoholic and out of work. Keri’s continuing dislike of Adam just about convinces the others to change their minds.
The monologues this week did a lot of revisiting of Archers history which is perhaps useful for newer listeners detailing and filling in some of the stories and providing some explanation of the relationships between the Aldridges and their various paramours over the years. The hosts also discuss the oddity of the largely unexplored relationship between Alice and Chris which after 10 years continues unabated without Chris having a real insight into Alice.
And yes I know at least one person who tracks the wine delivery van to our house – principally because one previous delivery was left in rubbish bins outside someone else’s house and another delivery was dumped on the doorsteps with some broken bottles.
