Corpsing – laughing so much you cannot continue with the performance – reached the people’s podcast this week when Philippa collapsed with the giggles as they discussed the week in Ambridge. Central to this week was the materialisation of the Slitheen as Hazel Woolley re-appeared. She found Hilda Ogden a wonderfully friendly cat and was able to discuss at length how it was her dear daddy’s money had effectively funded the rewilding experiment and how sad it was that he was not mentioned and his contribution properly recognised.
I am hopeful that now that we have heard from Blake we will not hear much more from him – some of our fellow listeners did feel that he was perhaps likely to hook up permanently with Chelsea – but I hope not.
And elsewhere much discussion about Chelsea and Mia plus the latter being the latest to receive the wisdom of Lynda who has a long history of guiding difficult teenagers whilst a lot of people seemed to like the new Ruth who is probably the polar opposite of the old Ruth. As ever if a character is not regularly written the scriptwriters seem to forget the oddities of the individual characters. At the moment most of The Archers is not about members of the family.
And I do think that might have been the scrapings at the bottom of the barrel when Lynda and Eddie had to audition a donkey. Indeed the whole Christmas panto this year is a complete mystery to me as few seem to require donkeys.
