Our callerinnerers often astound by both the breadth of subjects covered, this week ranging from theology to a podcast (“My dad wrote a porno”) alongside debating the ins and outs of Tony’s counselling to Tom (I am on Quentin’s side this week – he has the time line dead right).
As ever they can also be accused of over-promoting possible relationships when Stella, knowing no-one in the village, apart from Ruth, decides to ask Ruth advice on being a ‘Mysteries’ extra after admitting to Mia that she has not yet moved to the village (you have to hope the commute is not too far!) and within seconds people are calling it “StRuth”! Although perhaps Ruth is looking for a change after 30 years of marriage.

I would like to think that we have seen the last of Blake, the entire storyline not really being part of the ethos of the programme as defined by its title. Indeed the ongoing absence of most of The Archers from the programme being a real problem in making it essential listening, with very little relating to true rural and farming matters.
