The presenter seats revolve once again so that Angela Barnes and Yokel Bear can bring us the last DumTeeDum of the decade as they discuss Christmas week in The Archers.
Disquiet and unease appears rampant in the village this week as Tom decides that his father is using his huge sexual allure to lead Beechwood Joy into bad ways; which as the vicar appears to have abandoned the village to its deviant ways and does not even make a seasonal appearance means that devil is in the ascendant. Amusing was the absence of any interest by Pat in Tom’s allegations – she realises just how much allure Tony contains!
The next alleged twat on the block was unfairly treated. Gavin can see his father has done well – split from his mother, no doubt gave away half of everything for which he had ever worked, picked up a sexy new partner and invested in a Beechwood mansion (surely Joy would be setting her cap at Phil?), all on the back of the building business for which Gavin is labouring away all year (but was not capable of running for a minute when Phil was laid up with a bad back). No doubt he feels due a share of the spoils – so why not ask for it! The fact that he has no concept of the value of money implies poor parenting – so it is Phil’s fault anyway.
And what have weddings ever done to upset our hosts – well in Angela’s case not having one – will the other half please get down on bended knee and whisk her down the barn or up the poly tunnel quickly. Now there is an idea the “wedding polytunnel” only available to the LGBTQ community so everyone can see transparency in action!
