As the weeks have gone by, a third character has been introduced to most episodes. We have gone from the weekly quota of 39 characters to 8, 10, 10, 11 characters during June. What a strange month! Most of May 2020 comprised the three weeks of The Archers Revisited episodes, broadcast to give the production team time to record new “Talking Heads” style episodes, with actors recording monologues from makeshift studios in their homes as a result of the Coronavirus lockdown restrictions preventing the usual recording process from taking place.
