A somewhat unusual Dumteedum this week as Roifield has no Lucy on hand to make the jokes and is therefore relying on some previous episodes of the podcast plus contributions from callerinerers who tell us about how their Archers listening habits commenced.
The episode contains the report of the original tent flap incident, involving Lizzie and Roy; Roifield’s view on the termination of the coercive control storyline (badly done you may recall); Lucy’s and Witherspoons touching reports concerning aspects of their health. The latter two are particularly touching examples of the benefits derived from listening to or creating podcasts as it enables members of the community which exists around Dumteedum to learn about life matters which may touch them or their family in the future.
As The Archers should be more than a soap with the tropes of such a format it behoves the podcast to also extend beyond the format of a non-interactive podcast as Roifield & Lucy have sought from the start.
There are also appearances from three of the cast of The Archers from last year’s do in Birmingham.
And that extends to meet ups in the near future in Brighton where no doubt Keri Warbis will be leading people astray, with the big do in Birmingham in November.

With no Lucy, Roifield and the listeners gang together to take a trip down memory lane and relive how they fell in love with The Archers along side listening to some of the best bits of Dumteedum.
