A new host joins Roifield this week – Phillipa Hall is in the co-host chair – the podcast spends a fortune moving that chair around the country each week to enable us to hear so many different voices. Phillipa hugely enjoyed former co-host Jackie Smith’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend and we all hope that an Archers listener can reach the final.
Amber arrives to do That Was the Ambridge week That Was (almost TWAT Week) as Vince commences his pursuit of Lizzie (not difficult given that Roy succeeded), the writers avoided the pass the ipad trick – as Philip gave Kirsty bits of paper – do people have printers any longer? – whilst the Frillies showed at the age of nearly 21 that they can still behave like children and run off after their mother at the faintest provocation. I almost think I would have preferred a monologue to such a travesty of a story line. They can vote, they can drive cars, Lily can sell kitchens and Freddie can direct a play and yet neither of them can let their mother attend a conference in peace and quiet and let her get bedded before she gets home! And as Ms Hall points out who is actually attending a training session in person in the modern world?
The next Kirsty meltdown is discussed at length foreboding the time when she realises that she did not spot that Philip is a wrong ‘un. Or will Philip reform, put his house in order and Kirsty will never know that he was a slaver? No I don’t think so either.
