    No. It’s not an English thing although I guess it might’ve been for a certain generation before 1960?

    Anyway I think calendar girls was a film then converted to a play. Only seen the film but I hear the play is good so I guess whoever adapted it did a good job.

    I can’t really say whether it is an English thing or not….I guess not now for the younger generations. But it depends how you were brought up……I have catholic friends, for example, who were told by their mother, aunts, grandmothers etc that they must not look at their naked bodies in the bathroom mirror…..my own upbringing was centred around a Protestant religious group and we were certainly brought up in a chaste and prudish manner. My only comment now is that,”Thank Fuck we escaped,” but, there may be those that didn’t……
