Imagine you’re on the interview panel for the new Archers editor – what would you ask?

I’d want to test out their knowledge of previous storylines, to make sure they have a bit of history with the show. Perhaps a few general questions from 15-20+yrs ago, and more detailed questions about more recent history. At least 5 years listenership plus some general background should be a prerequisite.

I’d also ask a twist on the classic, where do you see yourself in 5 years, with “Where do you see the Archers in 5 years”.

    What would you ask?

“Have you worked on Brookside, EastEnders, Hollyoaks or any other TV soap?”
“How do you understand the craft of storytelling? Please give us an example.”
“Do you think that bringing the TV soap storyline approach to a Radio 4 audience is appropriate – and if so, why?”
“How would you resolve the Rob Titchener storyline?”
“How would you propose to reintegrate the listeners who have felt alienated over the last two years by the show?”

Any more for any more…? 😉
