Lily is not your co-parent she is your child

It made my blood boil when Elizabeth called out to Lily that “they needed to talk about Freddy’s future.” I hope Lily can put some healthy boundaries where her mother is concerned and I hope that Elizabeth can find another adult to confide in or lean on in regards to Freddy and his future.

That’s such an insightful comment, Audreyanne.

I get it that Elizabeth and the twins have been their own little family unit and she has had to be both mother and father to them since Nigel died – and she sees Lily as the “sensible” one – but now the twins are no longer infant children she does still have to parent them as adult children. She’s got to stop infantilising Freddie now he’s on his way to becoming a “felon”! We don’t use the term “felon” in UK law but Freddie the Felon has a ring to it … And she needs to be emotionally attuned to Lily and what she needs as a young woman instead of expecting her to be mature beyond her years and experience.
