Oh Paul….chickens come home to roost!
though that sounds flippant I have 12 chickens, there is Jill, Aunty Cardboard, a grey chicken always 2 steps behind all the others, there is Clarry and Susan too. I have an automatic chicken door triggered by a light sensor ….all this technology just allowing us chicken keepers to be lazy gits!
They go to bed very early and they have never missed a curfew. I live in Washington State USA and I kept loosing chickens to the coyotes and Bob cats, my automatic door is the best thing I ever bought. Sorry the Tobester gets to sit on his backside!

Some of our chickens do stay out when curfew calls. They get eaten by the fox generally silly buggers. So sometimes they don’t come in on time but in a commercial operation then you budget for losing some every day I would guess. I mean apart f I’m everything else if you’ve got 10 or 15 chickens you can count ’em easily enough. If you’ve got 200 or 1000 say then you can’t so you mat as well have automatic doors!*

    * although the tobster is a lazy git.

Plot Prediction: It was the remote control doors that caused the fire. Josh gave the electrical bits to Birt so it’s his fault.

My first thought was Josh had something to do with the fire.
