As Pat and Tony seemingly have done nothing to sort out the legal situation regarding having Rob as an employee are we in for a horrible storyline of him trying to claim his job back/a part of the business as Helen’s spouse?
That sounds horrible! I am not sure he would have rights as Helen’s spouse but he may as an employee. Are they entitled to terminate his employment? If not when can they do so? It is odd that they have not discussed this yet. Surely they don’t want him back!
And this is yet another problem with this storyline. There are aspects of family law (Children Act, divorce and ancillary relief), criminal law and employment law – and maybe more detractions.
I’m just waiting for the writers to throw some other spanner in the works which makes it all even more complex.
