People keep keep saying how well written the Rob and Helen story line is. Surely if it was so well written, then their would not be so many people wanting to stop listening. The show is becoming schizophrenic , one day its all cake and trips up lackey hill. Then we have twisted and sick Rob destroying another persons life.
A well written piece would not jerk from one extreme to another.While I think the storyline itself is mostly well written, it is starting to make the programme unbalanced. Even when other characters get a storyline and make a few appearences, they’re not storylines that run for very long, nor are they as meaty as the Helen and Rob story. Like Ruth appearing to be maybe on the verge of leaving David, but oh, hey, it’s okay, she’s not and she just wants to change the way they farm. The Grundy family potentially homeless, but oh wait, they can live at Grange farm, they’re fine. Kenton seems to start to spiral down into depression and financial disaster, but David bailed him out and now he’s happy as Larry again.
That’s why I have high hopes of the Adam, Charlie and Ian love triangle story. They’ve built it up slowly. It’s currently at a turning point – Adam’s declared his love, now we wait to see if Charlie will go or stay. If he goes, that storyline will likely peter out too. If he stays, then there’s potential for plenty of meaty drama over the next few months.
I agree, Becky. This Rob and Helen storyline has been slowly intensifying. That isn’t all bad, although the it is dreadful to hear unfold, it does overshadow so many other angles for the story.
Who are we all kidding. The show has become schizophrenic and virtually every character has been substituted by a simpleton who is unable to see the obvious. No mother would be so blinded . They live in a small village and she has not seen her daughter for almost a week. This would be hard to believe during normal time but when she is pregnant !!!!!!!
