  1. Hello Roifield

Just to say “YOU ARE SO RIGHT” about Linda’s swansong which indeed it has felt like. Never before have i agreed with you so wholeheartedly (actually I rarely agree with your postulations) but this time you have had an insight that is like an arrow piercing its target. You managed not only to sum up my thoughts exactly but your logic is crystal clear. Linda’ storylines over the past few weeks indeed seem like a final goodbye and I was amazed to find she has survived her horrific injuries. I’m still thinking the editors are going to write her off in a lingering way after making peace with Lillian and Freddie she will catch a hospital virus (no I will not say the obvious)

Quite frankly there is no real reason to do this. God forbid the writers are going to replace her with the dreaded Joy Horvill, who lacks all credibility, and is the most annoying character I’ve ever heard on radio, she’s a melodramatic banshee with NOTHING to offer.

Nearly thirty years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Carole Coyd in a recording studio in Soho. My boss and I were huge fans of the archers back then, and we used to stop and listen every day. Can’t believe they are going to do away with one of the best characters on radio. Unless of course Carole has asked to leave? Well if that’s the case the editor should jolly well tell us so….

Keep up the good work Roif!
