DTD: 253 – Natasha rubs Pat up the wrong way and Lucy is back

Lucy returns and with Roifield gets down to sorting out the differences between a to do (more often a right to do), a brouhaha and a hoo haa. Subtle differences but a scale is decided as follows: Hoo Haa – lot of fuss about nothing To Do – more admin heavy says Lucy Brouhaha – even more fuss than a Hoo Haa And a “Set To” probably involves some physical violence between two people. Then they get back to The Archers. Much speculation on the mystery visitor arriving or returning to Ambridge at Christmas and who is no doubt the […]

Ep: 252 Roy and Lexi are done and other Ambrigde goings on

Angela Barnes sits in again for Lucy this week and Roifield had almost forgotten they were going to record so it is a miracle it turned up at all! Angela has had no time to write Lucy’s week in Ambridge so we skip right to a discussion of events. Roifield has lost all interest in the Lexi & Roy story as there has never been much of a portrayal of the relationship and it now seems to have fallen apart without explanation. Lexi only now seems to be resident to pursue Adam and Ian’s baby production and that seems pretty […]

DTD: 251 – Getting old and Roy’s tin Ear with Angela Barnes

Angela Barnes joins Roifield to talk all matters Ambridge this week. The script gets amended on the fly by Angela and then she gives us her week in the village with a very early double entendre as a rabbit and then a pussy appear as if out of a top hat. Following the sex Angela then gets onto drugs at the age of 94. No mention of rock and roll that I heard, no chance of dropping off to sleep either because Angela is taking it all at high speed (sorry more drugs). Roifield reckons this week is better than […]

DTD: 250 – A very British understated episode

Roifield has not done this 249 times before (honestly) so he gets off to a completely false start this week forgetting to play the DumTeeDum or the copyright notice before setting light to the weekly fireworks. Eventually he gets it all together! Then Lucy goes off with a big bang as she covers the week in Ambridge and in a display worthy of any Catherine Wheel she spins round the Ambridge stories of the week. None of the jokes sputter out uselessly unlike the fireworks I used to buy. She delivers a real sparkler of a review ending with an […]

DTD: 249 A spookylicious horror show at Lower Loxley

Good news – the extra ten minutes of the week outside Ambridge makes a return after the end credits as our hosts bring us up to date about their life events of the last week, largely dominated by Robert having a problem with a trumpet voluntary plus an involuntary tinkle whilst at a concert. And Lucy revealed that Mrs Mark Rylance (Claire van Kampen) is related to our Fallon (Joanna van Kampen, that surname is a bit of a giveaway of course). No map corner this week but Yokel Bear has started the Joe Grundy Country Customs corner which this […]

DTD: 248 – A bruised pubis and some stonking good calls and letters

Lucy leads off by describing Newcastle disease for those of us with no knowledge of hens.  An endless supply of kebabs and the hens go out in the evenings with few feathers on.  Then we move on to board games on the wireless which was highly entertaining; it easily beats map corner (not this week as it Robert and not Roifield). Robert has stopped drinking coffee (never Camp) and in consequence appears to be suffering withdrawal symptoms!  Lucy tries to get him to fall off the wagon & then diagnoses that he might have a brain tumour. Answering last week’s […]

DTD – 247 Sausage pop and Hannah revisited

Lucy bemoans not knowing the Ambridge Panto subject for this year – only because it means she cannot moan about it by name! Meanwhile Lucy tells us that Kathy Perks has been found – incarcerated in the Laurels. And Irene is also there but pretending to be Carol Vorderman who gets a celebrity guest mention at the end of the Week in Ambridge. The current storylines are examined in detail. Lizzie is letting Lower Loxley go to rack and ruin whilst trying to find a phone number for Saul Goodman (505-842-5662). If she cannot believe Usha she won’t believe anyone […]

DTD: 246 – Snotty noses, lost recordings, and days late its Dumteedum

There is a huge posse in New York, Lucy included, for this week’s DumTeeDum to open the podcast, which Roifield brands a mournful dirge as it is a little on the slow side.  Roifield has also found out about the wonders of Ryanair!  The bathroom foibles of the older generation featured large this week.  Really fascinating stuff. Predictions – Johnny gets lumbered with milking at Brookfield, Roifield and Lucy see different points concerning Hannah, Lucy thinks it is to show Tom growing up, Roifield thinks there will be a big fallout at some point. Roifield does a wonderful run down […]

DTD: 245 Dumteedumers do the Archers at The Mailbox BBC Birmingham

“Underneath the Arches” is the location for recording this week’s ‘DumTeeDum’ opener.  Looking back to the DumTeeDum weekend in Birmingham Roifield brings us “The Archers” as you have never heard them before with two photoshoots in the Grundy Cider club, plus a special guest appearance from Archibald. Listen and Enjoy And Roifield is going to do it all again next year. Kosmo.   Dumteedumers do radio drama The Mailbox BBC Birmingham.

DTD: 243 – Everyone hates Hanna, I like mean everyone

Lucy is in fine form this week allegedly without a script.  No doubt being driven by pure adrenalin ahead of Sunday’s excursion to Birmingham and doing it live.  The laughable attempt at running a family business at Bridge Farm where the patriarch is too busy at Stratford-on-Avon to pop in and record his assent to the fruit and nutcase plans of his offspring are hard to believe.  It looks like the unpaid intern was told to sort out Bridge Farm headaches this week. We can all see that Hannah is merely a plot device to enable Tom to go crying […]
