I am sure that Pip and Toby will work things out and they will come together as a couple to raise their child- David is really going to feel like a fool for all the terrible things he has said to Toby.

Am I alone in thinking this might be the long-term bridge that rekindles Pip and Rex? He’s always cleaning up after Toby, and this seems like a perfect time for the writers to make another pass at an Anesha/Rex/Pip triangle, while also stoking the fires of a Toby/Rex/Pip one.

It reeks shades of Ed, Emma and Will.

This reminds me that Purple Pumpkin started a thread about recycling old storylines …

We don’t need another story of a woman “torn between two lovers” – it’s too tedious (we’ve recently had Lilian and Matt and Justin).

And being torn between two brothers has already been done, too (Emma and Will and Ed).

I suppose being a single mother as well as a working farmer is slightly more novel (except for Helen perhaps making a similar claim) …

If they must be together, I’d rather Pip and Toby moved away from the village. I can’t believe that he’d be happy to tie himself down to Ambridge – child or no child. To be honest, I’m surprised he’s stuck around so long – but maybe he’s got nowhere else to go.

Toby seems to be evolving. His new found enthusiasm for his yet to be born sprog came about quite quickly, thanks to Kenton. I think that he and Pip will be the next generation to take charge of Brookfield. His gin is taking off. Things are starting to work out for him in Ambridge. Unless there is some sort of tragedy I think he is going to stick around for the long term. Pip will have to recognize that he has grown up a bit and her feelings for him will soften.
